Kern Van Patten was the brother of William and Cora Van Patten. He married Allie Ochampaugh in 1895. He was employed in several professions including farmer, the Grant Hotel manager in Fort Plain and sales. In April 1929 he bought the Ochampaugh Farm in the center of the hamlet of Glen, NY. He lived 75 years.
