Death of a Prominent Banker and Business Man.

W.F. Day died suddenly at his residence in Roxbury Wednesday afternoon. He was a son of the late Moses Day, and was born in Roxbury April 13, 1838.

He was for many years president and general manager of the Sewall and Day Cordage Co., but had not been in active business for the last four years.

At the time of his death he was vice-president of the Institution for Savings in Roxbury, a director of the Peoples National Bank, trustee of the Roxbury Latin School and of Hartford Theological Seminary, director and corporate member of Sabbath Protective League and a corporate member of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions.

He was a member of Eliot Congregational Church, of which he was for many years an officer.

Mr. Day leaves a widow and five children.
