Born into the Mennonite/Brethren faith. Son of Jacob Forney and Magdalena Saylor. Moved with his family from PA to Tuscarawas/Holmes Co, OH in about 1815. Christian left Ohio and moved to Indiana in about 1841. Christian had 9 children; Christian H, Jacob, Christina, Abraham, Mary, Daniel, Magdalena, George W. and William Forney. After the death of his wife Christianna, he married the widow Mary (Browning) Iams. They are both buried in Twibell Cemetery.
