Funeral Services for Mrs. Bruns Held Thursday

Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Hamer Bruns were held Thursday afternoon, August 5th, t three o'clock at the family residence with the Rev. J. A. Wade, assisted by the Rev. R. C. Nanney, officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Oliver Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Serving as active pallbearers were Dewitt E. Tyler, W. L. Kin, J. S. Moore, A. C. Greenlee, G. W. Chesteen, John F. Patterson John A. Perkins and Bob Holliman.

Mrs. Bruns who passed away suddenly with a heart attack at her home near Kilmichael on August 4th was born in Montgomery County August 17, 1876. She was a member of a pioneer family of Montgomery County and attended college in West Point and Oxford, Miss. On August 17, 1902, she married Frederick W. Bruns who passed way some time ago. She was a devout Christian and always happy when she could help her friends.

Survivors include one son, Weldon H. Bruns, Kilmichael; two daughters, Miss Lena Bruns of Greenwood and Miss Inez Bruns of Kilmichael; and two granddaughters, Janie and Jo Bruns.
