Amanda was the daughter of John
Canada King & Ozine "Wright" King.

'Mandy'

Bitty Ma was a member of the First
Baptist Church, Afton, Ok.
She was a devoted Christain & a
loving wife, mother & grandmother.
Bitty Ma enjoyed sewing, cooking,
keeping house & working in her yard.
Her and Papa lived on the farm when
I was growing up and we visited all
most every Sunday afternoon after
church. She would have a delicious home
cooked lunch. The meat was what they
raised, either chicken, ham or beef.
The vegetables were so good, fresh
from her garden. Bitty Ma and Papa drank
iced tea, that was such a treat, as Mom
and Dad never liked tea. We would go with
them and some of Mom's sisters, and their
families to Arkansas and pick strawberries.
MMMmmm good, I think us kids might have
ate more than we picked! LOL
She would clean and cut them up and freeze
them, then for lunch, we would have the
frozen strawberries with real cream.
Delightful!
We would also have huge family 4th of
July celebrations, going to White River
in Arkansas.
We all went swimming and riding the
rapids. The water was so cold, they would
put the watermelons in it and soda pop in
the glass bottles, nice and cold.
She sewed beautifully and didn't have
to have a pattern. Bitty Ma made all my
cloths.
We would meet on Saturdays at the feed
store in town and she would let me pick
out the sack design so she could make me
a new dress.
I still have some of the very special ones
she made for me with cross-stitching on them.
Mom didn't sew at all.
Bitty Ma and Papa were the only grandparents
that I had and knew. They were so special and
when they moved into town, just down the
street, I loved getting to visit with them each
day. I mowed their lawn and would go to the store
for her when she needed something. She never did
learn how to drive, nor did Mom.

Bitty Ma and Papa were wonderful Christian
grandparents.
The families had so much fun and truly
enjoyed our grandparents. The sweet memories
of them will go on and be remembered by the
generations of today and shared for the future generations.

Aunt Opal'Dillinger' Roberts is buried in the Rolston Cemetery, Monkey Island. #8384579 memorial.
She is buried beside her husband, Rev. Buddy Roberts.

I want to thank my sweet friend, Pixie for
sponsoring my grandparents memorial page.
God bless you always Pixie.
