~ ~ MY LOVELY SWEET MOTHER ~ ~

Wife of Ray A. Long - married 56 years
Daughter of Frank & Amanda Dillinger
(Papa) & (Bitty Ma)
Mom was born at home in old Bernice, Oklahoma.
She passed away in the Miami Baptist Hospital, with
Marge Sue and I by her side, each of us holding
her hand. She had fought many times before, this time
she just didn't have the strength, she was so tried.
Bless her heart, she just couldn't make it,
God called her home, her work here was done.
Mom was 90 years old.

Children:
Marjorie Sue
Bobby Ray
Wilkie LeRoy - died at 10 months old
Phyllis Ann

Mom & Dad were married in Afton,Oklahoma. Rev. Robert H.
Long, Dad's grandfather, married them in his home, 20 Aug.
1931.
Mom was a charter member of the Lake Center Baptist Church,
RR# Afton,(Monkey Island) Ok. & later, when they moved to
town, they joined the First Baptist Church, Afton. Mom was
very active in church activities, in the school PTA & a band mom.
She loved to do yard work, & took great pride with her
flowers, they were beautiful. Mom was an excellant
housekeeper. Her moto was: If your going to do something, do it right the first time & you won't have to do it over.
I know that all the grandchildren knows that by heart. She thought everything had a place, and everything needed to be in it's place. Everyone enjoyed coming to the house,
Mom was a great hostess & always had something ready for her guest to eat...mmmm good. Who could forget Mom's candy
dish? I called her Junk Food Jessie....LOL LOL how she loved the candy. She was a real sweetie....
Mom had belonged to a skating club, as Uncle Wilber, her
brother owned the Rink in Afton. The skating club was called the Rinky Dinks, they had a lot of fun. LOL
She was a homemaker & loved her family dearly, she loved
all her grandchildren & loved visiting with them. I can see her standing at the door as any of us would leave,
waving good by, counting the time when we would soon
return. I was truly blessed by God for having a wonderful Christian Mother.
Mom was a loving daughter,wife,mother & grandmother.

I'm home in Heaven my dear family, no more pain for me.
I Love You All and Miss You oh so much.
But I'm home in Heaven and as Happy as can be,with the rest of our family.
I know you love and miss me, I know you think of me with tears in your eyes..but don't be so sad..
For you see, I'm home in Heaven with our Lord, he does
love us so.
I will always be your Mother, I will always be
in your hearts and memories...
But I'm home in Heaven and so loved by our Heavenly
Father and his precious Son...
So my sweet children, be happy for me and put a smile on your face...I'm free from pain and home in Heaven, you see. Remember, we will be together again someday, you and me.
