Shawnee resident Nicolette Rene'e Blevins, 23, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, in Shawnee.She was born July 20, 1984, in Shawnee, to Roger Dale Blevins and Jacheta Diane Nichols-Porter. She was raised in Shawnee and Bethel, spending most of her life in Shawnee.

She attended school in Bethel, where she excelled in music. She represented Bethel across the country with woodwind instruments. She was in the OBU Honor Choir, Who's Who in American High School Students, as well as Presidential honors for her music. Sebastian Jack was the light of her life. She was an excellent composer and poet.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Davis Sawyer and Benjamin Michael Blevins; two uncles, Jay Nichols and Melvin Lynne Nichols; and grandfathers, Jack M. Nichols and James Regis Blevins Sr.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Bethel United Methodist Church with Chris Talley of Bethel Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery.

A memorial has been set up at First National Bank in Shawnee, in Nicolette Blevins' name, to help with funeral expenses.
