Charles I. Shupp, Sr.

Charles Ira Shupp, 69, of Belpre went home to be with his Lord Oct. 2, 2006.

He was born March 5, 1937, in Pierce, W.Va., the son of the late Charles and Nellie Rita Fril Shupp. He had retired from the City of Parkersburg following 23 years of service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and knife collector.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia A. Anderson Shupp of Belpre; his children, Charles Shupp Jr. and his wife, Cora, of East Liverpool, Ohio, Debbie Persinger and her husband, Charles, of Parkersburg and John Shupp and his wife, Chrystal, of Sandyville; eight grandchildren, Keith, Shannon, Craig, Mary, George, John, Bryan and Blake; six great-grandchildren; four brothers; and four sisters.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Sueanna Shupp, and one sister, Nancy Wolford.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Visitation will 2-8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens.
