Edward "Lewis" Akers was born Feb. 23, 1926. He was self-employed and was a
member of Spencer Methodist Church.
Mr. Akers was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott and Carrie Albright
Akers; wife, Orpha Ewelldene Nelson Akers; son, Gary Wayne Akers; daughter, Betty
Louise Akers; brothers, Silas and Bill Akers; sister, Madeline; and grandson,
Thomas II.
He is sadly missed by his wife, Peggy Chambers Akers; son, Thomas (Sherry) Akers
of Florida; daughters, Brenda (Terry) Ball and Marsha Akers of Jeffrey; brothers,
Bobby of Ottawa and Paul of Jeffrey; grandchildren, Michael, Billy, Stevie,
Chris, T.J., Shaun, Regina, Michelle and Tina; and great-grandchildren,
Mackenzie, Kristen, Tori, Jaedyn, Kendal, Matthew, Schaefer, Gary, Dustin and
Thaddeus.
Service will be 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Spencer Methodist Church, Hewett,
with Earl Akers and Diann Kish officiating.
Burial service will be held in Albright Cemetery, Ison Branch, following
cremation.
