Singer. Born in Statesboro, Georgia, during the course of her career from the 1940s to 1980s, she was a popular singer pianist, touring and playing cocktail lounges. In the later years of her life, she was nicknamed "The Lady of 6000 Songs" by songwriter Johnny Mercer, because she could play a staggering 6,000 songs strictly from memory. She died in Savannah, Georgia, from a liver ailment.
