Sam Almon Croft was born in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, April 28, 1888. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Croft. He departed this life March 2, 1953 at the age of 64 years, 10 months and 2 days. He was married to Willa Gideon, December 4, 1923. To this union were born four children, Beulah Braden of Taneyville, Missouri; Bernice Marie Braden, of Silver Springs, Maryland, Sammy Lee and Robert Croft of the home.
Besides his widow and children he is also survived by three brothers, Tom Croft, Isaac Croft, and John Croft all of Kentucky; one sister, Martha Butler of Central City, Kentucky; six grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held at Riverview Church Sunday, with a military service. Burial was in the Ragsdale cemetery under direction of the Whelchel Funeral Home. Words of comfort were spoken by Brother Bob Grady.
