Hobert Doyle Ball, 84, died Monday, Dec 17 at the Gentry County Memorial Hospital in Albany. Born July 22, 1900 northwest of Albany, MO, he was the son of Thomas J Ball and Sarah Ellen Summa. He grew to manhood in that community and attended the old Canaday School. On June 1, 1919 he was united in marriage to Edyth Newell of Quitman, Texas. They lived on a farm in his home community and remained in that area until 1944 when they moved to their home in West Albany. He worked for the Burlington Railroad, did carpentry work in the area up until the time he retired, and also drove trucks for John Higginbotham. Doyle was a member of the Baptist Church in Albany. Doyle and Edyth were the parents of 3 daughters: Ethelda Ethel Rogers, Fredericksburg, VA; Lillian Leon Kendrick, Kansas City, MO; and Edyth JoAnn Donahoo, Rea, MO. They also had a grandson, Elsworth Gene McMichael of Kansas City, who made his home with them. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Edyth of the home; 3 daughters; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs Beatrice Townsend and Mrs Dortha Dragoo, both of Albany and a host of friends and lived ones. Burial in the Old Brick Cemetery.
