Anna Pankratz, 92, died Thursday (Nov. 6, 2003) at her residence in North Newton.
She was born June 25, 1911, in Gotebo, Okla., to Adolph and Clara (Goebel) Auernheimer. They preceded her in death.
She married Gus A. Pankratz in 1934 in Halstead. He survives of the home.
She was an elementary school teacher in Haverhill and junior choir director. She loved and cared for her family. She enjoyed music, flowers, gardening and canning.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Donna May Becker of Park City; a son, Dulane Pankratz of Prairie Village; two brothers, Roy Auernheimer of Halstead and Walter Auernheimer of Derby; a sister, Selma Auernheimer of Reedley, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by: two brothers, Arthur Auernheimer and Jake Auernheimer; and a sister, Florence Gomez.
Funeral service was Monday at First Mennonite Church with Pastor Verney Unruh officiating.
Burial was be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with First Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
