Betty Jo Tomlinson Blitch, 69, died Aug. 20 at home. She was a native of Douglas and had lived in Savannah 19 years. She was a travel agent, having owned Bonaventure Travel in Atlanta for many years. She also worked for Holiday Travel in Evansville, Ind., International Travel in Nashville, Tenn., and Livingston Travel in Savannah. She was known as the travel agent to the stars, having been the personal travel agent to many country music stars. She was past president of the American Society of Travel Agents where she served on the Consumer Affairs and Ethics committees. She was host of the TV show "Let's Travel" and was a guest for the radio show "Travel Show with Clark Howard," both shows having been in Atlanta. She was past president of the Wymberley Garden Club, a charter member of Isle of Hope Baptist Church, a member of Love Sunday School class, and was involved in Autumn Glory.
SURVIVORS: two daughters and sons-in-law, Janiece and Steve Setzer of Moncks Corner, S.C. and Claire and Fred Buchanan of Piedmont, S.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Jill Blitch of Atlanta; her father, Joseph Alton Tomlinson of Savannah; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Maxine Tomlinson of Conyers; five granddaughters and three grandsons. VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Monday at Isle of Hope Baptist Church, burial in Bonaventure Cemetery.
