Mrs. Allen was born here, Jan. 1, 1858, the daughter of Leonard M. and Laura Bradford Beals. Her husband, James M. Allen, died many years ago. Mrs. Allen was a practical nurse many years in Turner, Buckfield and vicinity, and the past 15 years spent the Winters with her daughter in Massachusetts and he son, J. Garfield Allen, here.
Surviving, in addition to the daughter and son, are a sister, Verna Beals of Turner; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Allen was a Golden Sheaf member of Turner Grange and a member of the Ladies' Circle of the Universalist Church.
DIED. In East Milton Mass., March 18, Laverna B. Allen, age 89, widow of James M. Allen. Funeral services Saturday, March 20 at East Milton, Mass., followed by services Sunday March 21 at 1 P.M. from the Universalist church at Turner Center, Me. Interment Chase's Mills, Turner, Me.
