A. Gail Briggs, 70, died this morning at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Greenwood.
She was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Edinburgh. Her parents were Ralph O. Wirey and Dolly (Gillespie) Wirey. She married John Robert "Bob" Briggs July 30, 1946. He survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Linda S. Samples of Greenwood and Brenda L. Briggs of Greenwood; and a granddaughter, Rachael L. Samples of Greenwood.
She was employed by Hartford Insurance Company and Indianapolis Livestock Company, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Smith Valley United Methodist Church and Bargersville Order of Eastern Star.
Pastor John Samples will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Friday at Wilson St. Pierre Greenwood Chapel. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in White River Township.
