Claiborne Mead, 48, of 608 N. Grant, died at 3:40 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony's Hospital. Mr. Mead was a bricklayer and was born in Amarillo in 1916.

Surviving are his wife, Lorene; five daughters, Sandra, Linda and Sharon and Vickie Mead of Amarillo and Mrs. Geneva Riggs of Phoenix; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Mead of Amarillo; and a brother, Chesser Mead of Amarillo.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Nolan Rucker, a Baptist minister, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Leo McMahan of the Cliffside Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Llano Cemetery under direction of Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors.
