Samuel Arterburn was born on February 6, 1774 in Culpeper County, Virginia, two years before the Declaration of Independence was signed!...He later migrated from his home in Virginia to the Illinois Country where he died in the Ursa Township area of Adams County, on February 27, 1853. He is buried with members of his family in the Denson Pioneer Cemetery, located in the north west corner of the village of Ursa in Adams County, Illinois.
