Annie was the daughter of Marcus and Linnie Dancer Peevy. Her parents are buried in Parker Cemetery in Houston Co, TX. She shares a stone with her husband, Fred Douglas Ashley, who she married 13 January 1940 in Anderson County. She was residing in Elkhart, TX at the time of her death there. She was survived by her husband; one son, James Douglas Ashley of Elkhart; one daughter, Kathleen Ashley Billings of Elkhart; three sisters, Ura Peevy Moore and Ava Jo Peevy Dickson, both of Elkhart, and Mary Pearl Peevy West of Grapeland; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Wednesday, 4 September 1996.
