Adin Ballou, 79, of 110 Delaine St., a maintenance man for the Abbott Run Valley Club, Cumberland, before retiring, died yesterday at home. He was the husband of Hazel (Hewitt) Ballou.
Born in North Smithfield, a son of the late Gavan and Delia (Murray) Ballou, he lived in Providence for 17 years.
Mr. Ballou had also been a maintenance man for the Lathrop Block, Woonsocket. He was a 10th generation member of the Ballou Family. The first generation received a land grant from Roger Williams. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in World War II.
Besides his wife he leaves a brother, Frederick Ballou of Woonsocket, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Moore of Warwick.
A funeral service will be held tomorrow at the Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 1040 Atwells Ave. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield.
