HEART ATTACK CLAIMS ROBERT BERGMAN
Robert F. Bergman, age 60, R.R. 1, Maria Stein, died at 10:30 a.m. WEdnesday at his home on Huwer Road, two miles south of St. Rose (according to a relative who was a little girl at the time of Robert's death, they found him in the yard, dead under a tree, when he failed to return to the house. We don't know what he was doing outside but the Bergman home never had plumbing so he could have been going outside to work or to go to the outhouse). Death was due to a heart attack follwoing an illness of one year (Robert was a diabetic, probably type II as several of his relatives later became type II diabetics as well. His father, Frank, was also diabetic and looking back on several of the Evers obituaries, this could have been inherited from Frank's mother, Anna Ever's side. Like his brothers Stephen, Leo, Herman, and Andrew, Robert lived on the home farm for his entire life).
Born September 21, 1909, he was born on the same farm where he had lived his entire life to the late Frank and Elizabeth Puthoff Bergman. He had never married.
Surviving are two sisters Mrs. Fred (Catherine) Grieshop, R.R. Minster and Mrs. John (Regina) Albers, Chickasaw, and five brothers Stephen, Leo, Herman, Andrew, and Michael, all of R. R. 1, Minster. One sister, Cecilia Steinlage, is deceased.
Mr. Bergman was engaged in farming. He was a member of the St. Rose Catholic church and the Holy Name Society of the church.
Funeral rites took place at 10 a.m. Saturday in the St. Rose Church with the Reverend Celement Gourbeaux officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
The Hogenkamp Funeral home, Minster, had charge of the arrangements.
Never married, surviving is a sister, Regina Albers.
