M. Barbara Angert
M. Barbara Angert, 93, of Chicora died at 12:58 a.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Oakland Township, April 23, 1913, she was the daughter of Michael and Martha O'Donnell McGinley.
She was a certified licensed practical nurse and had worked at McGinley Nursing Home, now Classey County Nursing Home, in Oakland Township for years.
Mrs. Angert was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in North Oakland and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers of the church. She was a charter member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 313 of Chicora.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Jane) DeBacco of Karns City and Mrs. Dennis (Susan) Double of Chicora; three sons, Robert Angert of Karns City and Donald and Kenneth Angert, both of Chicora; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Her husband, Harry P. Angert, whom she married Nov. 14, 1932, died March 13, 1982. She also was preceded in death by three sons, a grandson, three sisters and a brother.
ANGERT - Friends of M. Barbara Angert, who died Thursday, March 22, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock, St., Chicora. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland, with the Rev. David DeWitt officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
The Women of the Moose will hold a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Christian Mothers of St. Joseph Church, 864 Chicora Road, Chicora, PA 16025.
