Son of L. K. and Helen June Braswell. Married To Sherry Sue Little. To this union two children were born, his son, David William and daughter Jolie Elizabeth.

Randy graduated from Permian High School in 1971. He joined the U.S. Army in December 1972 and served with the 2nd Armored Division as tank commander until February 1977. He won several trophies for tank gunnery while there. His pastimes included, hunting arrowheads and sanding caves, camping and travels with his family

Randy was a route salesman for Gandys Dairies, Holsum Bread and Schwans Corp. for 19 years collectively before being disabled with multiple sclerosis. He later developed Beurgers disease. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Odessa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Debby Lou Hill. She is survived by his wife of 27 years, son, David of Odessa; daughter, Jolie of Lubbock; stepmother, Polly Braswell of Odessa; brothers, Lester Braswell of St. Charles, Mo., Karl Braswell of Roscoe, Ill., Jimmy Braswell of Odessa and Danny Purdy of Joplin, Mo.; sister, Edna Braswell Conn of Odessa; three grandsons, Ian Cameron, Christopher Michael and Vincent Evan (Bud), six granddaughters, Ashley Miranda, Heather Nichole, Jessica Nichole, LeAna Yvette, Destiny Morgan, and Rhandi Jo; and his Italian greyhound, Ankhenaten (Ankh.).
