Mr. Samuel "Gene" Gray age 59, of 833 Cave Springs Rd., Rogersville passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Gray was a life long resident of Hawkins County, and was a self-employed painter. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard & Effie Long Gray. One sister, Louise Marsh and one Brother, Kenneth Gray.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Minor Gray of the home, One son and daughter-in-law, Brian & Myra Gray of Kingsport. One daughter and son-in-law, Angela & Rodney Couch of Church Hill. Four grandchildren, Miranda Harrell, Austin Gray, Emiley Couch and Tanner Couch. One great granddaughter, Morgan Harrell. One brother, John Gray of Church Hill and one sister, Marie Long of Church Hill. Several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny Woods and Rev. Wayne Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in the McPheeters Bend Cemetery.
