Robert Charles Jacoby, 51, of Bertram, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Vanderveer Church of Christ in Burnet with Tim Denton officiating. Interment followed at 3 p.m. in the Stonewall Community Cemetery in Stonewall.

Arrangements were under the direction of Edgar Funeral Home of Burnet where visitation was held Tuesday evening, Nov. 21.

Jacoby was born in Fredericksburg on Sept. 21, 1955, the son of Roy E. Jacoby and Erna Besier Jacoby. After attending St. Mary's and Stonewall schools, he graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1973.

Jacoby was a businessman, rancher and community leader.

In his younger years, he was an accomplished bull rider.

A homebuilder, he was owner and operator of Jacoby Construction Co., Inc. He also raised hogs, cattle and Angora goats.

He was a member of the Texas Pork Producers Association and was involved with his children's 4-H and FFA activities, serving several terms as president of the Burnet County 4-H and FFA Livestock Show Board of Directors.

He married Holly Ruth Hoffman on April 15, 1978, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stonewall and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Jacoby is survived by one son, Trace Robert Jacoby, and two daughters, Randi Ruth Jacoby and Darcy Rae Jacoby, all of Bertram.

Additional survivors include his parents, Roy E. and Erna Jacoby of Stonewall; seven brothers and three sisters, including Dr. Roy A. and Fran Jacoby, Houston; Joan (Jo) and Charles (Fuzzy) Jenschke, Fredericksburg; Barbara Jacoby, San Antonio; Peter and Jean Jacoby, Spring; Daniel (Louie) Jacoby, Fredericksburg; Carolyn and Curtis Garner, Bogalusa, LA; Thomas Jacoby, Andrew Jacoby, Patrick Jacoby and Ross Jacoby, all of Fredericksburg.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ruth Hoffman, Phoenix, AZ; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Laurel and Bob Barord, Phoenix, AZ; Laurie Clem, Scottsdale, AZ, and Steve and Maryfrances Hoffman, Memphis, TN.

Jacoby was preceded in death by his grandparents, including George and Dora Herbort Besier, Orwin Jacoby and Cornelia Peese Jacoby Rech; step-grandfather, Willie Rech; father-in-law, Gene Hoffman, and brothers-in-law, Jeff Hoffman and James Hoffman.

Memorials may be made to the Burnet County 4-H, 1701 E. Polk, Suite 12, Burnet, TX 78611; Burnet FFA Scholarship Funds, 1000 Green Mile, Burnet, TX 78611, or to a youth organization of choice.

Pallbearers included Roy Jacoby, Peter Jacoby, Louie Jacoby, Thomas Jacoby, Andy Jacoby, Pat Jacoby and Ross Jacoby.

Honorary pallbearers included Patrick Pehl, Kerby Knaupp, Kim Weinheimer, Donny Floyd and Steve Pierce.
