Grace Batchelor Etheridge, 83, died Thursday, March 31, 2005. Services were held Sunday, April 3 at Elam Baptist Church in Gray, with burial in Elam Memorial Gardens. Rev. Gary Thomas officiated.

Mrs. Etheridge was born May 6, 1921, in Jones County and had lived in Macon for the past 60 years. She was the daughter of the late Henry Paul Batchelor and Lillie Dame Batchelor. She was a graduate of Jones County High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Etheridge was a member of Elam Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a Bible School teacher, a member of the choir and was a member of the Prime Timers of Elam. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas V. Etheridge, Jr.

Mrs. Etheridge is survived by her sons, Ronnie Etheridge of Athens and Van Etheridge of Macon; daughter, Glenda Bell of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Annette Childs of Jones County; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
