O.C. "Squeaky" Cox, 70, of Amarillo, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, Pampa, with Glen Walton, pastor of Bell Avenue Church of Christ, officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be by Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF & AM. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Pampa, by the funeral home.Mr. Cox was born in Blue Grove, moved to Pampa in 1936, and to Amarillo two years ago. He retired from Phillips Pipeline in 1991, was a member of Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF & AM, Bell Avenue Church of Christ, Amarillo, and a former Church of Christ member in Pampa.Survivors include his wife, Pat; a daughter, Jeannie Slocum of Portland, Ore.; a stepson, Rick Bigham of Wichita, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Sherry Melton of Amarillo; two sisters, Roberta Cardwell of Lytton Springs, and Olga Smith of Grass Valley, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.The family requests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home in Amarillo, or to the American Heart Association.
