Mrs. Smith Dies At Age 72.
Mrs. Helena ( Smith ) Smith of Great Hill Road, Oxford, wife of Reginald Smith, died last night at the Grand View Manor Convalescent Home, Hamden, after a long illness.
She was born in Southbury, on July 6, 1891, daughter of William & Nellie ( Dixon ) Smith, and lived in Oxford for 47 years.
Mrs. Smith had a collection of more than 1,000 salt and pepper shakers. She was a member of the Seymour Congregational Church.
Mrs. Smith leaves, besides her husband, 1 son and 2 daughters, and 1 brother and 5 sisters, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the W.L. Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour, with the Rev. Robert J. Divine, pastor of the Seymour Congregational Church.
Burial will be in the family plot in Great Hill Cemetery, Seymour.
