Howard Franklin "Frank" Allen, 82, of the 500 block of 14th Street passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004 in Virginia Beach General Hospital. Frank was born Dec. 17, 1922 in Athens, GA to the late William T. and Donia Anthony Allen and raised by his late stepmother, Mary Passmore Allen. He was the loving husband to the late Reather Mae Dixon Allen. He was a retired contractor and foreman with Hauser Construction Company after 38 years of service. He proudly served his contry in the U.S. Navy in WW11 where he served in the Pacific theatre in Airial Gunnery Combat. Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory, one son, Rodney Joe Allen and wife Janet of Blacksburg,Va;two sisters,Sarah Martin of Conway,SC.and Lois Pitts of Monticello,GA, five brothers,Charles Allen,Bill Allen and Bobby Allen all of Monticello, GA, Jody Allen of Jackson,Ga, and James Allen of Va. Beach. Beach; four grandsons, Joseph Wesley Allen of Va. Beach, John Franklin Allen,Andrew Joseph Allen, and Matthew Paul Allen all of Blacksburg, VA; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Maestas & Bailey Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Oceanfront Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Va. Beach, where a funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, Dec.29,2004 at 2p.m. with the Rev.John Schappel, officiating. Interment will follow in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
