Billie Fred Allen, 78, formerly of Monticello, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston.
Mr. Allen was born in Monroe, and was a lifelong resident of Monticello. His parents were the late William Thomas Allen and Mary Estelle Passmore Allen. He was a farmer, and attended Smithboro Baptist Church.
Brothers and sisters, Frank Allen, Joseph Allen, Kate Cook, Emory Lee Allen, Luke Allen, and Bobby Allen, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Charles Allen of Monticello, Sarah Martin of Conway, S.C., James Allen of Virginia Beach, VA, Lois Pitts of Thomaston, and Jodie Allen of Eatonton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Smithboro Baptist Church in Monticello. Rev. Dale Parker officiated. Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
