Lillian Nancy Kathleen Buskirk Adams, 88, of Greenup, Ky., went home to be with the Lord, whom she loved so much, on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006, at her residence.

Mrs. Adams was born Jan. 12, 1918, in Morgan County, Ky., a daughter of the late Lee Ander Buskirk and Cynthia Whitt Buskirk Heaberlin.

Lillian was truly loved by everyone who knew her. She was a homemaker and faithful member of Greenup First Baptist Church for 47 years, where she taught Sunday school for much of the time. She was also a member of Greenup Homemakers for many years and won first place in the Homemakers Song Writing Competition for several years. Her songs will provide the music for her service. In addition to her church and song writing, Lillian kept a beautiful home decorated with many needle point pictures and other items she made. Her pride was the magnificent flower garden she tended with love.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herschel Adams; two brothers, the Rev. Rodney Lawrence Buskirk and Courtney Lee Buskirk; and a sister, Ruby Christine Buskirk Webb.

Lillian will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Adams Archey and her husband, James, of Greenup; a son, James L. Adams and his wife, Katie, of Durham, N.H.; two grandchildren, Anita Prince and her husband, Vernon R., of Greenup and Paul Archey and his wife, Deena, of Darien Ct.; and four great-grandchildren whom she adored, Nick Yancey (Anita's son) of Greenup and Jacob, Megan and Peter Archey (Paul's children) of Darien. She will also be sadly missed by seven nieces and their families and a nephew by marriage and his family. Many people were loved by Lillian, none more so than her special friends, her Sunday school class, who will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Greenup First Baptist Church. Dr. Thomas Melvin will officiate. A special reading and prayer will be offered by Roger McCaleb. She will be laid to rest in Ashland Cemetery next to her husband of 59 years, Herschel Adams, and his parents, James and Molly Adams.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 7, 2006, at Music Funeral Home, 224 Main St. Greenup. The body will lie in state an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.

Friends may make contributions to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
