Joda E. Bailey, age 78, of Shelbyville died Saturday, August 7, 1999 at Hillcreek Manor, Louisville. He was a native of Henry County, the son of the late Alexander and Mary Thomas Hardin Bailey, a retired truck driver for WPB Oil Company and a member of Burks Branch Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Tingle Bailey, Shelbyville; three sons: Roy T. Bailey, Douglas L. Bailey and Darrell W. Bailey, all of Shelbyville; two daughters: Mary Jo Barbour, Shelbyville; and Valendia Ott, LaGrange; three brothers: Hugh C. Bailey, Defoe; Buford A. Bailey, Louisville; and Charles R. Bailey, Hodgenville; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev Billy Betts officiated. Burial was in Shady Lawn Cemetery, Shelbyville.
