Mr. Day, a native of Baldwin County, was an U.S. Marine Corp veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a retired registered nurse.
Survivors include his wife Carol Smith Day of Milledgeville; a daughter, Brandy Day of Milledgeville; two sons, Derrick Day of Ivey and Chris Day of Milledgeville; a stepdaughter, Angela Barfield of Milledgeville; a stepson, Michael Barfield of Eastman; his parents Dorothy Starley Day and Harold Grady Day of McIntyre; a sister, Margie Dean of McIntyre; a brother, Harry Day of Milledgeville; three grandchildren, Brittany Long, Macy Long and Christopher Long, all of Milledgeville; and several nieces and nephews.
