Obituary from Wayne County Press, 3/26/1981: Wayne City Woman Dies Mrs. Clara Barnard, 89, a resident of Wayne City, died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in Sulivan, Ind., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sidney (Dorothy) Hale. Mrs. Barnard had been making her home with her daughter. She was in frail health. Services Friday Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bailey Church north of Wayne City, with Rev. Omer Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Richardson's Funeral Home in Wayne City after 5 p.m. Thursday (tonight). Mrs. Barnard was born in Wayne County Dec. 10, 1891. She was married to Louis Barnard, who preceded her in death in 1968. The Survivors Surviving are two sons, Cecil Barnard, of Oak Forest; and Donald Barnard, of Houston, Tex.; one daughter, Dorothy Hale, of Sullivan, Ind.; a foster sister, Ethel Johnson, of Hollywood, Fla.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
