James Olin Fitzwater, 75, died Jan. 9, 2006, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born March 3, 1930, in East St. Louis, IL, son of the late William and Beulah (Hahn) Fitzwater.
He was united in marriage to Veneda Marie Marler Aug. 11, 1950, and she survives, residing in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Fitzwater retired from DOW Chemical Company in Michigan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Linda (and Louis) Van Meter of Goodland, FL; one sister, Edith Hahn of Fredericktown, MO; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Marie Roberson, and several brothers and sisters.
The funeral was held Jan. 12 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Derrick Jones officiating.
Pallbearers were Herschel "Doc" Eaton, Rick Clyburn, Larry Clyburn, Gene Goggin, Tim Stucker and Paul Eaton. Burial was in Carson Hill Cemetery, Mill Spring.
