Frances Barnhart, 84, of Vienna, was born September 22, 1921, at Vienna, a daughter of Joseph and Margaret Schwartze Weider, and died, September 26, 2005, in the Kindred Hospital, St. Louis.

She was married on April 21, 1949, at Meadeville, Pennsylvania, to Samuel Everett Barnhart, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 12, 1998; her father on July 21, 1973; her mother on April 30, 1974; and two sisters, Thelma Marie Weider and Kathleen Weider.

Mrs. Barnhart was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association. Before beginning her teacher career, Mrs. Barnhart was secretary for the Maries County Welfare Office and while living in St. Louis, was secretary for the Family Services Office. She then retired after devoting the next 26 years to teaching.

She is survived by: two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Colleen Barnhart, Vienna, and Tim and Ruth Barnhart, also of Vienna; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Ken Blake, St. Louis; one sister, Louise Ewers, Vienna; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday morning, September 30, 2005, in the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, with Rev. Marion Makarewicz, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Visitation Catholic Cemetery, Vienna.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, September 29, 2005, 5-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Visitation will continue on Friday morning, September 30, 2005, 9-10:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel before the funeral mass.

Memorial contributions are suggested to masses or memorials to the Visitation Inter-Parish School with envelopes available at the funeral home.
