Louise K. Ewers, 98, of Vienna, departed this life on Saturday, July 4, 2015, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. She was born on July 26, 1916, at Vienna, a daughter of Joseph F. and Margaret Ann (Schwartze) Weider. Mrs. Ewers was united in marriage on April 26, 1939, at Vienna, to Ildaphonse George "Ilda" Ewers, and to this union, seven children were born. Mrs. Ewers was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna, a devoted member of the Visitation Ladies Quilting Group, and a member of the Stickney Friendship Club. She was a housewife and homemaker for all of her working life which says so much for her in that her church, religious instruction for her family, promoting her church with her talents and taking care of her husband and family were the utmost priority in her life.

Those left to mourn the passing Mrs. Ewers include: Her children, Phyllis Nelson and husband, Eugene of Dixon, Kathleen Wieberg and husband, Adam of Vienna, James Ewers and wife, Kathy of Willow Springs, Linda Rush and husband, Tony of Holts Summit and Leonard Ewers and wife, Cindy of Vienna; son-in-law, Robert Alberts of Wichita, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Ewers Reinhardt and husband, Robert of Jefferson City; 34 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ilda, on October 9, 1998; one son, Francis A. "Sonny" Ewers, on March 14, 1975; one daughter, Patricia Alberts, on August 18, 2008; two infant grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; her father, Joseph, on July 21, 1973; her mother, Margaret, on April 30, 1974; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, infant, Thelma Marie Weider on February 3, 1925, at the age of 1 year, 5 months and 2 days; infant, Mary Kathleen Weider (age and date of death unknown) and Frances Elizabeth (Weider) Barnhart on September 26, 2005; and brother-in-law, Samuel Everett Barnhart Jr., on June 12, 1998. Visitation for Mrs. Ewers will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.; and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, July 9, 2015, in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Vienna. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Ewers at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015, in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Vienna with the Rev. Matthew Flatley as the Celebrant. Interment will be in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Vienna next to her husband of over 59 years, Ilda. Masses or memorials to the Vienna Knight of Columbus Council No. 13178, are suggested by the family of Mrs. Ewers with envelopes available at the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes at 406 South Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582.
