On Dec. 21, 1948, he married Virginia Towler, in Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; his parents; a brother, JB Pate; and two sisters, Carmie Freeman and Geneva Woods.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Deanna Pate of Rush Springs; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Pate, Cheryl and Doug Trammell, and Lori and Preston Jeffcoat all of Rush Springs; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include, two sisters Virginia Rice of Duncan and Wanda Tannchill of Chickasha; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held March 25, at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Chuck Davis, Rev. Lonnie Harris, and Clyde Headley officiating. Burial was held in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
