WANNA SOLVE A MYSTERY?...I need someone who can visit the Midland City library for possible newspaper postings, land records, obituaries, city directory, etc.

At this time NO confirmations that Charles and Hannah FEENEY are buried at this location. Because there are NO headstones. NO death records. NO 'paper' trails.

In 1970's the director of the oldest funeral home had information that Mr. Charles W. FINNEY had purchased five lots when his wife Hannah/Annah/Hanna died 1888. The family plot is located at Section I, Lot 103, Grave 1-5. (see attached 2016 photo and map) The funeral home director mentioned that the three lots are occupied. But he had no records of 'who' are buried in this lot.

In 2005, two requests for 1890 death certificate were sent for Charles W. FEENEY and Chas. W. FINNEY. Both were denied, not found or unavailable. Their surname may be a challenge. It could spelled as FENY, TINNEY, PHENNEY, FIENNE, KINNEY, FENE, etc.

The FINNEY family is listed in the 1880 U.S. Federal Census in Midland, MI. (see attached photo) Charles, Hannah and their daughter Anna moved from Jonesboro, ME. Their second child, Charles W. Feeney was born on 18 May 1883 here. A request for a birth certificate for Charles W. FEENEY was denied, not found or unavailable. There are five generations of 'Charles W. FEENEY'!!

Mr. Feeney worked as a lumberman and died 1890. His children, Anna and Charles, became orphans. From 1890 to 1905, I have no idea where Anna and Charles lived. It is possible that they were sent back to Jonesbore, ME to live with their extended family. They were not found until Anna was listed in the 1905 New York State Census. She had became a nurse and her brother Charles was living with her.

Another mystery question: Who is the 'third' person buried with their parents? Maybe another child? It's unknown at this time. Perhaps the local library will have the answers! I need your help!
