Albert Veronica Hazen was born March 6, 1917, in Nichols, the daughter of Cleveland and Julia (Zybarth) Hazen. She graduated from Nichols High School in 1935. She married Orville Leonard Valett on January 25, 1936, in Nichols. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1988.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Frisch of Durant and Karen (Daryl) Swanson of Davenport; one son, Gene (Charlene) Valett of Hobbs, NM; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Elda Hazen of Columbus, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, Mathew Frisch, two sisters, Loretta Hahn and Betty Ament and five brothers, Raymond, Albert, Wayne, Donald and Willard Hazen.
