LOUELLA MAY BAXTER
Louella May Baxter, 86, of Gainesville, MO passed to heaven on Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Mountain Home, AR. She was born April 10, 1927 in Dighton, KS to Jesse P. and Pearl L. (Moore) Honstead.
Louella graduated from Lane County High School in Dighton, KS in 1944. She met and married Bert W. Baxter on January 1, 1947 in Garden City, KS. The couple later moved to Howards Ridge, MO where they raised two children. She was a homemaker who loved to quilt and was active in Lick Creek Fire Department quilting. She loved having family and friends get- together's. She loved her grandkids and great grandkids. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Bert of the home; one daughter Patricia "Pattie" and Mike Britt of Howards Ridge; one son Lowell E. "Butch" Baxter of Howards Ridge; her grandchildren Dean and Patricia Britt of Howards Ridge, Wes and Amy Britt of Howards Ridge, Rocky and Sherri Britt of Mountain Home, AR, Joe and Heather Britt of Clarkridge, AR, Stacey and Berry Skiver of Neosho, MO; several great grand children and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Pearl Honstead; brothers Clayton, Harold, Stewart, Jim and Oran; and sisters Denzil, Jesse and Elizabeth.
Visitation for Mrs. Baxter will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, February 4th & 5th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO.
