Howard David Smith, age 61, died Thursday, January 30, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. He was born in Berea to the late Lee and Josie Mae Damrell Smith. Mr. Smith, an employee of Novelis, was of the Holiness faith and he loved to garden and grow things.
Mr. Smith is survived by: his wife, Julie Anne Smith of Crab Orchard; his daughters, Trudy Anne Nichols of Mt. Vernon, Tricia Gayle Callahan of Annville, Crystal Gloria Daniel of Berea, Julie April Smith of Berea, and Candice Louise Smith of Mt. Vernon; his son, Howard David Smith II of Berea; his sister, Betty Jean Nichols of Berea; his brothers, Ray Smith and William Smith, both of Berea, and Hamp Smith of Mt. Vernon. 9 grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, Nannie Marie Smith.
