Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - February 16, 1993. LAYTON--Donald Harris Adams, 84, died of natural causes Saturday, February 13, 1993 in a Layton hospital. He was born October 24, 1908 in Layton, Utah, a son of Joshua Isaac and Elizabeth Bell Evans Adams, the sixth of 13 children. He married Frances Louise Selleneit, May 31, 1928; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

As a young adult he worked with his father in the cattle business, and farmed for many years. He then worked in the canning factory in Ogden. In 1940, he moved his family to Wendover and worked for Bonneville Ltd. for 13 years. He then moved the family back to Layton where he went into the turkey business. He raised turkeys for many years before retiring. He made many friends in his life and was always there to help someone in need. He loved sports and was a referee for Little League baseball in his adult life. He was loved very much by all his family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years; one son and three daughters, Neta Norman (Gene) Sacramento, Calif.; Don Adams (Joann), Mission Viejo, Calif.; Sharlet Gilchrist (Bob) Salt Lake City; Dianne Flint (Gary), Kaysville; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Scoffield, Layton; and Afton Ellison, Boise, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 1993 at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 North Fairfield Road, Layton, with Bishop Daniel Croft officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary, and Wednesday, 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
