She was born Jan. 20, 1914, in Rochelle, to Ole and Sophia Vallem. On Jan. 19, 1935, in Dixon, she married Kenneth W. Simons.
She was a 1932 graduate of Marengo High School.
Mrs. Simons lived on a farm in Marengo for 62 years, worked for Auto-Lite and later retired from Arnold Engineering Co.
She was a former deacon at the United Methodist Church in Garden Prairie.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne (Diane) Simons and Kenneth (Sue) Simons II, both of Marengo, and David Simons of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two daughters, Rosalee (Richard) Kolberg of Palm Desert, Calif., and Kathleen (Joe) Lorenzen of Palos Verdes, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Rosabelle Davison of Florida, Violet McClellen of Belvidere, Lila Mercaitis of Durand and Ella Kennedy of Rockford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Dolores Cernak; and a brother, Ole.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday Jan. 4, until the 11 a.m. funeral at the Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. The Rev. Dale R. Beaman will officiate. Interment will be in Marengo City Cemetery.
