A graduate of Taft Union High School with the Class of 1966. Don served as a Sergeant (posthumous promotion) in the U.S. Army, Company "E", 12th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division. He was killed in action at age 20 in Binh Duong Province, Republic of South Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
