Bertha Emma Emilie Evers née Helms
Bertha was born on November 11, 1916 to Henry C. and Bertha J (Hinz) Helms north of Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was baptized into the kingdom of God, December 10, 1916. Her faith was confirmed June 14, 1931, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Arapahoe. Bertha was educated at Immanuel Lutheran School.

On June 14, 1942, she married Herman J. Evers at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Arapahoe. They raised their two sons on the Evers family farm west of Hildreth. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hildreth, where she was active in the Lutheran women's group and taught Sunday School. Most recently she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hildreth.

In December 2000, she and Herman moved to Chrisoma West, Holdrege. Bertha transferred to Christian Homes, Holdrege in September 2001 and died while a patient at Phelps Memorial Hospital.

Bertha is survived by two sons, five grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman (2001); two sisters, Alice and Edna; and a brother Reinhold Helms.

Burial will be at the St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hildreth
