Mrs. Fleming Services Held

Services for Mrs. Georgia Lanora Fleming were held from Colonial Funeral Home Chapel Jan. 21 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Alfred Jones of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church officiated assisted by Dr. J. Roy McComb of First Baptist Church.

Interment was in Galilee Cemetery near Hazlehurst with Sam, David, and Bert Lawrence, Ray Albritton, Carroll Campbell and Charles Thomas serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Fleming died Jan. 19 at Walthall County General Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 86 and was the daughter of Dewitt Clinton and Georgia Ann Elliott Nix. She was born in Copiah County and resided in Columbia most of her life.

Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by her husband, William David Fleming, in 1931. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Her hobby and pastime was her art work.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joe Lawrence of Columbia and Mrs. J. W. Robertson of Grenada, five grandchildren, Joe Jr., David, Becky, and Deborah Lawrence, all of Columbia, and Martha Ann Martin of Memphis, Tenn., and three great-grandchildren.
