Shirley was the 8th child of Alonzo and Gertrude Granger. She contracted polio in 1952 and her life was forever changed. She lost voluntary muscle control of her legs. She didn't let polio stop her. She became a member of the Civil Air Patrol, graduated from college, and traveled the world. She became the favorite aunt of many of her nieces and nephews, always remembering birthdays. She had a great laugh and we heard it often.
