Clara Walters Anderson, 95, came to the mountain in 1929 as the 16yo bride of Squire Walters Jr. After his death, she married J.A. "Jimmy" Anderson, who died in 1984. She was also preceded in death by granddaughters, Connie Johnson and Patti Walters; brothers, Rev. E.F. Hodge, Wayne Hodge and Henry Hodge; sister, Flora Carrington; and grandson, Gary Archer. She was honored by Sen. Larry Means and the Senate of Alabama on May 7, 2002 on the celebration of her 90th birthday, stating that she be congratulated, and that it be known from the Senate of Alabama, best wishes for a great lady who has been so richly blessed by God.
