Son of Cindicy Lathrop.

Charles Kelton Lathrop was born at Effingham, Illinois, October 18, 1861, and died at his home about 12 miles north and one mile west of Guymon, Oklahoma on April 15th 1919. Up to the time of his death, he was strong and hearty, working in the field up to fifteen minutes before the end came, death resulting from acute stomach disorder. He was 57 years, 5 month and 27 days old.

Thirty two years ago, he professed christianity and became a member of the Christian church. He was married to Miss Sarah E. Lee September 15, 1890, at Fayetteville, Ark. To this union were born seven children, five boys and two girls, all surviving him except one boy named Elmer. The children living are Marvin, Tosby, Rolla, Mrs. Cecil Young, Ethelyn and Homer, all residents of Texas county but one of the boys.

Funeral services were conducted at the home April 17 at 4 p.m. by J. H. Agee, pastor Guymon Baptist church. The remains were accompanied by a host of friends to the Lee cemetery, where they were laid to rest. Bro. Lathrop leaves a wife and six children, neighbors and many friends who wept over his departure. We deeply sympathize with the bereaved ones and commend them to our Heavenly Father for comfort in the days of sorrow. [Written by] J. H. Agee
